Homaid Al Shimmari has served as Chairman of EGA since 2025.

Mr. Al Shimmari is also the Deputy Group CEO and Chief Corporate & Human Capital Officer at Mubadala Investment Company, overseeing various divisions including Human Capital, Corporate Services, Digital and Technology Services, Government Affairs, and Community Affairs.

As a key member of Mubadala's Investment Committee, Mr. Al Shimmari plays a pivotal role in shaping the company's investment strategies, and ensuring that projects and investments align with the company's overall goals. He also chairs the Management Committee,  overseeing key corporate, organszational, operational, and performance matters and leads the Mubadala Foundation.

Before the merger of Mubadala Development Company and International Petroleum Investment Company (IPIC), Mr. Al Shimmari led the Aerospace and Engineering Services division, focusing on advancing Abu Dhabi and the UAE's aerospace, ICT, and defence sectors.

Mr. Al Shimmari holds leadership roles in various sectors, serving as Chairman of Maximus Air Cargo and Solutions+. Additionally, he serves on the boards of First Abu Dhabi Bank, Abu Dhabi Aviation, Al Waha Capital, the UAE International Investors Council, and the Abu Dhabi Investment Council.

Committed to empowering UAE Nationals, he actively mentors and develops emerging leaders and industry experts, including as Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees at Khalifa University where he plays a vital role in fostering educational excellence and the professional growth of talented Emiratis.

Before his tenure at Mubadala, Mr. Al Shimmari served as a Lieutenant Colonel in the UAE Armed Forces, specialising in military aviation. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Aeronautical Engineering from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in the USA and is a Six Sigma Black Belt, certified by General Electric, reflecting his commitment to excellence and leadership.
