Aluminium is lightweight but strong, corrosion-resistant and recyclable. That is why so many of the world’s great buildings have been constructed using the metal of the future. And it is not just in skyscrapers that aluminium makes our modern cities possible. Aluminium is used in everything from family homes, to bridges, to electrical cables and metro systems.
The Burj Khalifa in Dubai, currently the tallest building in the world, holds the record for the highest installation of an aluminium and glass façade. It contains metal made by Emirates Global Aluminium.
Ferrari World Abu Dhabi’s iconic red roof is the largest aluminium roof in the world. It covers an area of nearly 200,000 square metres, equivalent to more than 37 football fields.
Aluminium is also found in infrastructure for cities such as transportation systems. EGA’s metal is used in the Dubai Metro and the Shinkansen in Japan.
