Our aluminium touches your breaktime

EGA’s aluminium is used to make packaging that keeps your food and drink fresher for longer.

Making modern flavour possible

We are able to enjoy food and drinks whenever and wherever we want, thanks to aluminium. That is because the metal of the future is impermeable, highly resistant to corrosion, and recyclable. Each second, thousands of aluminium drink cans are opened around the world. Aluminium foil was first rolled in 1910 and today it can be found in almost every kitchen.

The first time soft drinks were put into aluminium cans was in 1959. Until then soft drinks were stored in tin cans, which could corrode and even burst.

More than 100 years ago, a Swiss company was the first to start using aluminium foil to package chocolate – the same material chocolate is packaged in to this day.

Aluminium is recyclable, making it one of the most sustainable packaging materials. It can take as little as 60 days for an aluminium can to go from empty in your hand to full on the shelf as a new can.

EGA’s aluminium makes modern life possible in many other ways too
